The Melbourne Community Orchestra, an affiliate of the Space Coast Pops, presents on Wednesday and Thursday, February 7th and 8th its tribute to Valentine's Day with the program "Expressions of Love". The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Melbourne Auditorium at 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd.
Music Director and Conductor Witold Dobrzynski has selected numbers that reflect the romantic atmosphere related to the traditional Valentine's Day celebration. Included are "The Girl in Satin" by Leroy Anderson, "Love Duet" from the opera Mary Mount by Howard Hanson, "Liebesfreud" by Fritz Kreisler, and "Toward a New Life" by Czech composer Joseph Suk. Also on the program are "The Unchanged Melody" by North and Zaret, "Slavonic Dances" by Antonin Dvorak and "The Unfinished Symphony" by Franz Schubert. Space Coast Press Release 2/1/01 ~ Robert Bauer
